DIRECTOR
The director of Patents AU Pty Ltd is John Gibbs.
John has been a registered patent attorney and legal practitioner for more than 30 years. For many years he was a partner in the Australian patent attorney firm Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick, and was for a time the head of the Electronics, Physics and IT patent group of that firm. He was also the partner responsible for the firm’s in-house programming team which created patent attorney practice automation software.
For more than 10 years John was a lecturer in Intellectual Property Law at Monash University. He was also a lecturer in the subjects of Patent Law and Trade Marks Practice.
John’s particular intent in establishing Patents AU Pty Ltd was to create a firm which removes the pain points typically experienced in international patent practice, such as slow responses to correspondence, inefficiencies and errors in processing applications, pricing uncertainties, very high prices for simple administrative actions, unexpected invoices creating unpleasant surprises, and differential pricing structures in which clients have to engage in hard bargaining to obtain the best prices.
Patents AU aims to answer correspondence quickly, process applications accurately, offer low prices for administrative actions, provide transparent pricing structures, and avoid any unpleasant billing surprises.
